New Product R&D

As existing product sales continue to grow, SMI maintains an emphasis on enhancing materials perfomance and environmental impact factors of each of its existing and developing products.  With that goal, SMI is collaborating with several private technology companies, leading universities (including the University of Maine) and government agencies on a variety of product and capability development initiatives.  The majority of this health-promoting and sustainability research work is competition sensitive and will be publicly announced as new items reach “market-ready” status.
